Vintage Walking Doll - Patent Pending

Vintage walking doll, stamped on back "Patent Pending" but no visible maker, hard plastic partially jointed vintage doll.  Height 12", no cracks.

A little of the history is known on this doll - "a local toy shop had a sale of "old" stock in the early to mid seventies, this was a traditional tobacconist,  sweet and toy shop that had been trading since the late 1930's"
English doll makers from the late forties to late sixties were BND and Roddie Dolls but as this one is not marked we cannot say if this is one of those well known makers however this ties into the era that the toy shop was open 

This doll has hair in plaits which look to be the original style with red ribbons, and is wearing a white dress decorated with red stars - we cannot say if this is the original dress.

This doll has awake/asleep eyes which seem to be manually operated eyelashes are in place, the arms and legs are held in place with elastic through the body as was the method with vintage dolls.  The arms are not jointed, all fingers intact, legs jointed at knees, manual walking allows head to turn, shoes are integral to feet.

This is a vintage doll and whilst in very good condition and does not appear to have any play damage or odour, there may be some surface marks.
